    Rough Idle
    « on: 2015-07-03 16:48:41 »
started the bike up yesterday just to move it out the garage in order to get another bike out and it ran really roughly at tick over, gave it a few revs and it seemed to clear its self. Never done this before. The bike was only sitting for two days after a week trundling around Yorkshire!!!

Working right over the weekend so will start it sometime next week and see how it runs.

Fuel is only a couple of days old, well from the pump, was thinking that could have been something to do with the heat in the garage as it was like a oven!!!

be nice if you had a GS-911wifi to hook up and see what is going on.  I live in Southwest USA and my South facing garage gets over 130 degrees during the Summer.  My K16 has never had issues starting in that heat.  I am only guessing but maybe your fuel pump is not getting the fuel system up to injector pressure?  Could be all sorts of issues, improper plug gap, fuel filter, dirty air filter, vacuum leak, plugged/restricted injector.  The GS-911 would help narrow it down.  I just bought one and waiting for it to arrive this week

Well out today for a nice 300 mile run &I the bike performed just fine, then when I got home & have to take the panniers off to get to the garage, that's ok however the right hand side case will not lock back on, the handle will not push closed seems like the mechanism is worn/loose. That will be another visit to the dealer tomorrow then!!!!!!!!!!!

Might not help but just try changing the lock/key position.

Tried that RTman10 with no joy, it's definitely the mechanism that's worn/broken/loose, if I play about with it sometimes (not very often) it will lock. Am sure I have heard of faulty mechanism on these panniers on one of the forums. It will be off to dealer tomorrow & see what they have to say. Going away for a week in two weeks & will need it sorted for then.

Its obviously still under warranty so no worries hopefully. Takes 5 minutes to swap the lid and lock onto a new back.

Yes still under warranty. Don't know how they will tackle the problem just as long as it's repaired in time for going away for the week.

On another note I see from the RT forum you are really enjoying your RT LC, good to hear you have no regrets.

I will admit I miss the engine but the performance is not that much difference.  The gearbox with Pro Shift is a bit of proper fun. Cant believe they haven't transferred it to the 1600.   Definitely don't miss all the hassle I had with both my Ks.

It's the performance that's held me back from going down the route of a RT, think BM have given up with further development on this model, so Pro Shift on these bikes, mm not so sure. I must admit I am getting a little bit frustrated with all the silly little problems the Ks have thrown my way. Without these niggles it would be a fantastic bike.
Anyway I have taken the pannier over to the dealer this morning & they confirmed that it would appear that the mechanism is broken/ loose in some way & are going to strip to see just what has gone wrong, said most likely order a new mechanism for it, let's see how long this takes.

Little update. Just had a call from the dealer to tell me that the pannier requires a complete new mechanism including handle. Can't at the moment say how long it will take as they don't know if the parts need to come from the Motherland.

Probably will beed to come from Germany because of the colour,  but they can see immediately if one is in UK. VOR from Germany should take no mire than 3 or 4 woring days.
