    Where is summer gone?
    « on: 2015-07-26 19:42:40 »
surely this has got to be the worst summer ever in the UK, well Scotland for sure. Think we have had about 3 days where it has not rained at some point. Got out of bed this morning and the sun was splitting the trees, got the bike out and set off for a ride out, got about 50 mile up the road and it clouded over, got to Tyndrum and had some lunch then set off back towards Callander cut onto the Dukes Pass to Aberfoyle then up to Loch Katrine by the time I got their it had turned very windy and chilly (13c),had a coffee then started to rain and it rained all the way back home. Don't recall having a day out on the bike this year where it has not rained at some point. Now I really don't mind riding in the wet in fact I quite enjoy it however it would be nice to get a nice dry sunny day to ride out to somewhere get off the bike go for a stroll and sit in the sun with a coffee watching the world go by. Seems this is to much to ask for this year, oh well still had a good day out.

Is it that bad up in Scotland at the moment? I was planning on grabbing a few days up there around Glencoe in early August, don't fancy a wet few days.

Yes it is that bad iam afraid, having said that I spent a week riding Yorkshire just over a month back and it wasn't any better. Keep a eye on the weather forecast you never know

Well a bit of summer came to Scotland today, not that warm & not that sunny but dry. Managed to cover 500 miles today on a run to Portree without any rain, what fantastic roads. Happy guy

Over here July was a good month apart from last week. Losts of heavy storm and rain.
As of today it's getting better again.

We popped out for a weekend with friends last Saturday.

The weather was hot and dry between 28-30C .......to hot for our riding gear !

We awoke on the Sunday morning to 14C and a day of downpour.

It's not the fact that the weather changes in UK ..........but that you can experience most extremes with the hour lol
