    Introduction from new member
    « on: 2015-08-31 03:30:03 »
    Hi to you all

Am awaiting delivery date for my K1600 GT Sport.  It should be in the next week or two.  It will join my 1400GTR and RD250DX in the hanger.

Looking forward to meeting up and getting involved

    Cheers

    Charlie

        Thanks for the welcome.

The K16 is a March 14 bike and the supplying dealer is sorting a few issues and extras out before I take delivery

Will keep you all informed once it arrives and post some pictures

Love my Sport, very different from the standard, with the short fairing and forward bars, you really want to ride like you stole it.  It's a beast.  Have fun!

Apart from a smaller wind shield (and some decalls) the Sport is identical to the GT.
The difference you mention is to the GTL which does have different bars and footpegs.

                        Hi Charlie,
Test rode the 13 plate GTLE today and apart from the clunky gear change I like it. Your right about it being different from the GTR. Back to my wing days and a more leisurely touring.

Forgot to ask the dealer about mp3/usb availability but out will be nice to have the cruise control back.

I love mine as I do my GTR. So glad I've got both as they are so different to ride. I love cruse use it all the time.

On my test ride I pulled off with the clutch and then rode it on automatic like the GTR.........the first up change was like .....l...........well I'm not sure what it was like as I've had to us the clutch ever since.

I do forget when making progress and my toes and ears feel the mechanical distress lol

Looking forward to a meet and checking out yer new ride.  When do you take delivery ?

one day next week Charlie - Bahnstormers are hunting the V5 from the previous owner and I bartered for a free top rack in lieu of a tiny pannier scratch that I can sort myself :)
