    2016 Models

Anyone heard of any changes for 2016 models, I'm thinking 'gear shift assist pro' would be a great thing for our less than silky smooth transmissions.

It's a device which helps control throttle to enable shifting gear without using the clutch. Very effective when changing up but not as good going down. IMO it will not be introduced on the K bike

The bike needs a DSG style gearbox to really make it the ultimate  effortless touring machine it professes to be.

The gear change quality is unacceptable on a machine marketed as premier product with primium pricing

Typical of type is not what I want to hear on a £20k bike

Agreed on the Dual Clutch transmission, Honda have it cracked on the VFR and Crosstourer. I know there are those that like a manual transmission but they don't have a K16!

The only problem with the VFR and Crosstourers is they are not very good motorcycles :)

The K1600 engine fitted into the smooth shifting and most comfortable K1200 frame...I would sell off my 1600 and buy the k12 if BMW did this suggestion

But true. And I speak from experience of 7400 miles on a Crosstourer. I went back to a GS Adventure a year ago (one of the water cooled ones) and there is no comparison between them. The GSA has better brakes, it handles better, the ergonomics are better, the finish and build quality is better, it is more economical (average of 52mpg for the GSA against 45 of the Crosstourer). The only area where the Crosstourer is a match is on engine performance, in terms of driveability, torque and power. The suspension on the Crosstourer is budget and not up to par, especially compared to the ESA on the GSA.

I'm sure you're right Bob, but their idea for the DCT would be great on a K16.

Having tried the DCT gearboxes on a VFR1200 and the NC750 I have to say I am not ready to go the automatic route just yet and I am not bothered about the lack of such on option for the K1600.

I have Pro shift on my 1200 RT.  After 3 years on a GTL E I cannot praise it enough.  Its brilliant both going up and down once you get out of second. Cant see it going unto the 1600 though.

Does anyone have any links to these quick shifters and who sells them?
