    new here
    « on: 2016-01-15 23:21:44 »
Last year my GSA was stolen, while waiting for the insurance the dealer loaned me their K1600GT for a month. It was a great bike, but I bought another GSA. An LC or water cooled this time. Beautiful ride, but alas, it was stolen yet again. So now I decided to get me another time of bike, and I hope it will stay with me this time.. It is a black K1600GT. I have to wait a month again for the insurance to pay, but in 27 day's now... 8)

    See you out there...

      Welcome to the forum.
Hope you have more luck with the K1600.
You'd better go for the alarm system and an extra lock.
      Where are you from?
Many safe and happy miles/kilometers once you have the bike.

I live in the Netherlands, close to Rotterdam. The GSA was 7 months old. It had alarm, two certified chain locks. One was attached to the wall, the other one to my SO's new R1200R. What more can you do? Thx for the welcome!

          I'd move.
Motorcycling is not, of itself, inherently dangerous. It is however, extremely unforgiving of inattention, ignorance, incompetence or stupidity.

The first reaction I had. But to sell your house and make a lot of costs in the process for this is ridiculous aside from the fact that we had this banking crisis which implies that houses bought after 2003 in the Netherlands are doen in value. So I'd loose money too by selling now. Better when the market is getting up again.

Many years ago I worked with Lintek who later were to become Lintek Gleave a motorcycle accessory and pattern parts manufacturer importer and wholesaler.  We imported and sold a Dutch bike alarm system in the early nineties.  We though bike crime was bad in the UK but were shocked by the life expectancy of an R1 locked and chained in a parking bay city centre Amsterdam.

Enjoy your K16 to the max 👍😃
