    It's all my wife's fault
    « on: 2016-02-15 09:00:01 »
Paid a visit to my local dealer here in Scotland on Saturday, took the car because of the white fluffy stuff on the ground.
Before going in I said to my wife, don't let my buy anything.

Long story short. Bought a new 16 gt se. Light grey. The deal we got was fantastic. Actually walked out the showroom not buying. He called me at home with a better deal. Couldn't resist.
Anyone looking to change bikes. Now seems a really good time. They seem desperate. Pick her up in a months time. He didn't even want to see my current bike.

Best of luck with the new bike, Dave.  :)  Nothing like the feeling of getting a brand new bike !  I got an Exclusive in October 2014 and love it too. It's in a class of it's own. Especially for 2-up touring.  8)

          Thanks guys,
I currently have a 2013 K1600gtse. When I bought it three years ago it was a demonstrator. so this will be my first brand new bike. always bought used.

I called them today to get a price for the engine protection bars. They want £338 to fit them. Phoned the parts dept and they are £206 to buy, eBay is the same. my current bike had them fitted when I bought it. So looks like I'll be getting the spanners out. Cant be that difficult, can it?

takes 10min to remove if you have a short  drive socket  you can get away with out removing the lower fairing  don't forget to save the plastic washers

              Thanks Steve.
Had a look tonight, doesn't look to difficult. Yup, I've got a short reach socket. I take it it comes with the torque settings.

I didn't get the audio on mine. Comes with the audio prep, so did my last bike can't listen to much with the wife nattering in my ear, intercom, ha ha

I went in to buy some chrome cleaner back in April 2012, and whilst there they offered such a good part ex on my 1200RT against my first K1600GT that it was too good to turn down!!
