    Which seat
    « on: 2016-04-11 01:41:04 »
I just bought a 2013 K1600GTL. I've seen a lot of discussion about different seats. I'm inseam challenged and want to be lower if possible. I know it sounds silly but I'm new to the GTL; how can I tell what seat I have. It would be silly to order the low seat only to find out I already have it (no nearby dealer).
It is a one piece. The only number I've found on it is 3525-7-013.
    Thanks in advance.

What I can find for the GTL is:

        Thank you.
I took the existing seat off and found the part number molded into the plastic but it doesn't match either of the numbers provided nor have I been able to find it on any BMW site.

        Any ideas?

I can't find anything with that number either.
The first five digits (52 53 7) suggest that it is a saddle number (which makes sense as it is stamped on the saddle).
Maybe the dealer can check for you?

There is an Ebay listing for a seat with the same number. The seller said it was a dealer takeoff "Normal" height seat. I have the query in to three dealers. I'll post if/when I receive an answer.
            Thank you for your help.

I know I'm "digging up bones" here with this old thread, but did you ever find out if you have a tall or short seat?

Here's the way but it's tricky:

Look at the seam between the rider and passenger section. On the LOW seat the rider back cloth is over the passenger front cloth. On the HIGH seat, the rider back cloth is *under* the passenger cloth.

The difference is maybe an inch or so of extra padding in front.

Thanks to the k1600forum.com and Harleymarlboroman.

Thanks Phil.  I was wondering if Chuck found out what he had, because if he has a high one and needs a low one, then he and I could be friends (lol- since I'm in the opposite situation).
