    Checking Valve Clearance
    « on: 2016-04-19 22:35:11 »
    Folks,

This is the first time I'm doing the valve clearance check myself.  I'm down to removing the cylinder head cover.  There are 12 bolts holding it down.  The two bolts that are on the top in the middle don't allow enough clearance to get a socket and torque wrench on them.

I could get these out with the proper sized torque socket, using a wrench to turn it; but, before I do that, I need to have a plan for how I'm going to torque this back down.

    Any suggestions?

    Best,

    RJF

Just try out with a wrench with the correct torque on the other bolts and feel the force. Then use your feeling for the bolts you mention. I always do like this and have developed the right feeling. I have checked it several times and always had the right torque. Good luck.  :)
