Nav V, music and memory stick
    « on: 2016-06-04 14:23:22 »
    Hi everyone,
Trying to play music through my nav v. Fitted a 32gb memory stick, which i formatted to Fat32, made a folder in that called mp3 and copied mp3 files to it, one in the folder and one in the root. comes up no files found. i copied an mp3 file to the internal memory in the nav v and it works perfectly. Don't want to fill up the internal memory, hence the additional memory card.
Anyone had this problem and solved it?

    Cheers
    Dave

AFAIK the mp3 player is disabled on the Nav V.
Why don't you just put the music on a USB drive and connect it to the audio system (in the right hand 'glove box').
That way you can operate it with the wonder wheel instead of on the Nav.

This is correct, MP3 is disabled on Nav V. If you plug a flash drive into the wiring (right hand fairing pocket) be aware not all flash drives are compatible. Despite re formatting I tried four drives before I found one that worked. Try a Sandisk, freebie sticks you get as promo giveaways don't work.

          Thanks for your replies,
Unfortunately I don't have the radio installed, only the wiring prep.
As I said in my original post if I copy an mp3 to the internal memory. Go to apps, media the file plays fine in my headset. It just won't play any music from the memory stick.

          Thanks anyway

According to the documentation a Zumo 660 can handle a 4 Gb card max. I have a 16 Gb card and it works fine.
I see no reason why a Nav V (more modern) couldn't handle a 32 Gb card.

I use a 32GB card in my Nav-V, but found that Nav-V doesn't like all card brands.

It seems that the SanDisk Extreme works nicely in the Nav-V

Thanks for all your replies and suggestions. Changed the card to a different make, still 32gb. All works fine. Either the other card was faulty or the nav v only likes specific makes. So can now load my music library into the nav and play through my headset.
                Thanks again
