    Suspension Removal
    « on: 2016-12-08 12:01:10 »
I've got over 40,000km on my bike and was thinking about getting my shocks serviced.  Has anyone taken them out?  Any tips or tricks that can be passed on?  Someone said that a special tool is needed to remove front one.  Is this true?  I've done it many times before on my old R bikes with Telelever systems.

What would you like to service? I am wondering whether these parts are servicable anyway. My bike has done 46000 km.

Yes they can be serviced.  There's a guy here in Brisbane Australia who does it.  Main things he does is regas/oil, seals, shift guides, piston rings, etc.  He used to do my Olhins on my R1150RT and they were like brand new. Also far cheaper than a new pair.
