Looking for switched 12v in the fairing.
    « on: 2018-08-23 02:13:46 »
Hi everyone, I just purchased the Schroedie turn signal lamps for my '12 GT. I've wired up the signal 12V+/- but now I need a switched 12v so I can also use them as running lamps. Can anyone suggest a switched source ~ other than the fairing mounted aux connection. Unfortunately the last time I tried that the small draw of voltage was enough to keep the circuit active even though the ignition was turned off.
I was thinking of tapping into the wiring for my headlamps but am open to suggestions.
    Thanks

If it were me I’d spend the extra money and install a PDM60 and wire it to the unit. Anything else you want to install you’ll have a place to get 12volt power.

        Thanks GT,

I was able to get them to work using the output of my tail lights but I'm gonna take your suggestion and purchase the PDM60. It'll make any additional mods easier.

I too have the PDM60 but there are more alternatives on the market now, which are also programmable.

try Beemerboneyard.com.  They have the real deal on used BMW parts.  They just might have your switch for the handlebar
