I read it on the other forum as well. Normally it's a precautionary measure. Does anyone here know of an actual accident that happened because of this?

Phone call from Astles Motorrad taday asking me to bring the bike in for an engine software upgrade.  Asked if it was a recall, was told 'Yes'

I read they started a recall in Australia as well.

My bike started giving me problems starting and finally wouldn't start a few weeks ago. Roadside assistance towed it 3 hours to my nearest dealer. They spent some time checking different things and finally updated "the software". The dealer told me a couple of days later there was a service bulletin for the issue. I'm assuming this could be it. Ran my VIN on the BMW site and it shows one item needing attention. However it also says to allow 30 days for the site to be updated, and I picked the bike up the day after Thanksgiving, so I'm hoping this is it.
