    Helmet Collection
    « on: 2014-02-23 17:35:52 »
Does it seem strange that a wife can buy 10 dozen pairs of shoes that mainly go unnoticed but when a man has three motorcycle helmets one gets bitched at?  I have an insulated warm helmet for Winter with a clear visor because it is dark most of the time, One helmet with a gold tinted for Spring and Fall when the Bright Sun is low on the horizon and one helmet for the heat of Summer desert riding that has both clear and dark visors and also flips up to let in max airflow.  Can I help it that I enjoy riding when others are busy swapping out visors and reconfiguring helmets?

As far as I'm concerned you can have all the helmets you want. I normally use 1 all year round with a built in sun visor. When it's warm, I open the vents and in winter I keep them closed.

Nothing wrong with multiple helmets.  She should be happy you're wearing them!

I ride with one helmet year-round with a clear visor.  Vents open / close, sunglasses go on/off.

The Summers here get over 110 degrees F.  The winters around 25f.  In Spring and Fall the Sun stays just a few inches above the highway so one needs a very very dark welding helmet visor

Nothing wrong with multiple helmets. I have three - one Hi-Vis yellow for winter commuting, an Arai for summer commuting and a Shark (with inner tinted visor) for spins with the group (have bluetooth set and helmet-cam on the Shark).  Love the Arai and they are definitely worth the extra money.
