    Want more horsepower
    « on: 2014-05-06 03:09:53 »
Love the bike but think it could use another 20hp.  Going thru the gears the front tire pops up a bit, but accelerating after corners it doesn't.  I think 20 more ponies would do the trick.  On the flip side maybe those BMW engineers know extra Hp might just get me into trouble?  Are there any after market performance tweaks available?

Try using the gear box.  There is more than enough power.

More power??? Just switch off the DTC and that should get the front wheel popping up.

          Perhaps the username is misspelt?

            Gee, even more juice?
I'm trying to get a handle on these donkeys already onboard.
Popping up the front wheel of a 300+ kg bike, no thanks!

As he has yet to comment on our learned thoughts I suspect we are too late and he has already tried one too many popups.

Use what you have and you shoud be more then satisfied. These bikes lull ya to sleep with thier mild manners down low. But work that motor close to redline and wow I love it!!

I think it has more than enough. Good grief, my R1150RT has "enough".  Does any one really need to be popping wheelies on a luxury touring bike?! As stated above the ability is there if the wild hair ever arises. Just ordered my GTL-Ex Monday and admitted to the salesman that I'd never even sat on one much less rode one. Knew I wanted the bike - period. So a few minutes later I'm in the right lane of 8 on the I-15 and saw about 2 miles of 2 empty lanes. Popped down to 5th and punched it. Needless to say I was well over 100 mph before I could collect either my thoughts or the throttle.

I just completely blew past a Porsche at a stop light on the way home this afternoon.  He had me for the first two gears but by third gear I was doing 4x his speed and still accelerating.

That was probably one of these:

With all due respect it was either a slow model Porsche or driver no good because a Porsche in right hands will not be blown away no matter how fast a 1600 is
