    Left Side Front Fork Scuffing
    « on: 2014-05-22 00:07:03 »
Just removed the front wheel to go get new tyre and spotted a worn bit on the front left fork/stanchion. It does not look like it should be there but anythings possible. Anybody have any comments about it, is it normal, if not whats the likely cause ?
Pic attached hopefully, probably wrong orientation but the mark can be seen ok

    how much Mr BMW ?

Just normal. This is a machined part, probably for positioning during assembly.

Its a machined groove to allow clearance for the disc brake retaining bolts.

Cheers folks put my mind at rest.  :) Just thought it was funny only being on one side and why is it not done before stanchion is painted black. Just back from getting tyres done so out I go to garage to put it all back together  again  ;D
