At last!
« on: 2014-05-25 00:06:20 »
After many months of waiting, I finally pick up my K1600GT SE!
It's not new, it's a 2012 red one with 7000 miles, Comfort pack and is in mint condition.
Flying to Manchester on Monday morning, I live in Northern Ireland, and then drive to Holyhead to get the ferry to Dublin and drive up home.
I've tried many different bikes recently but keep coming back to the K16. Fed up already with the number of expert opinions on them from people who have never even been on one.
Starting to make up my list of toys. Top of which, are a set of engine bars!

Welcome to the K16 family.  I am currently looking to move to the 2014 exclusive.  Trying to find a buyer for my 2012...might take all Summer as I am not giving it away

Well, got my K16GT home last night.
Flew to Manchester, bought the bike, drove to Holyhead, ferry to Dublin and back up north. About 200 miles in total.
Filled the tank close to where I bought it and still had 60 miles on the screen when I arrived home. Very impressive. The Honda dealer I bought it from wasn't aware that it had the audio option. Result!
Starting to understand why owners are prepared to overlook a few 'shortcomings'.
    This is an awesome bike.
Planning on a good run out at the weekend.

Who would trade that bike for a Honda?!

I believe he traded it in for a Gold Wing.
Whatever rings your bell I suppose.
Apart from the 'clacking' of the transmission in town traffic, I just love it. Covered about 2500 miles since I bought it.
I think this must be the first bike I have owned that I'm not thinking, what do I want next?
For me personally, it ticks all the boxes.

My sentiments exactly Comber....and re the 'clacking' - I wear in ear monitors and listen to music!!
(can still here the engine roar though....)
