    Electrical Mods and Warranty
    « on: 2014-08-27 07:12:02 »
There sure are a host of electrical and electronic goodies we can hang on our bikes these days. And I'm a big believer in in being seen on the road so I will be adding some auxiliary  lighting to my GTL - Exclusive.

My question is this: Has anyone had an experience with BMW where there was an electrical issue with the bike and they didn't want to cover it under warranty because of a modification that had been done?

In most cases, if the the dealer can prove that the cause of the problem is brought by the installed aftermarket parts/accessories then they will void some warranty claims

No experience myself and to keep me from getting it I power all farkles using a PDM60. That way all farkles are electrically disconnected from the CAN bus.
