4 tire experiences
    « on: 2014-10-21 11:28:50 »
Tire experiences with K1600GT/11 56K km:

Bridgestone Battlax BT 022/BT021 was lovely but the tire pressure increased dramatically during hard driving.

Metzeler Road Tech Z8 Interact was good as new, but gradually developed a height difference around the longitudinal grooves in the foredeck shoulders. It was felt when cornering. Tyre pressure remained stable with only 0.1 bar increase.

Pirelli Angel GT was great and the tire pressure was stable with 0.1 bar increase.

Michelin Pilot Power is not good. It feels like there is too little air in the front tire or like the rubber sticks to the road. Therefore, driving at very slow speed is a little wobbly due to the small steering corrections to keep the balance is going in small increments.

    Back to Angel GT.

Always use the tire that gives you the best and safest feeling. This also depends on your riding style. I'm happy with the PR4GT's. They give enough grip in dry and wet weather for my riding style and have long tire life.

Anyone try New Nankang Poadiac yet?  Good price and meets the DOT ZR rating for speed and weight

4300 miles on Z8's and time to change already...but I do like the tyre, the dry and wet grip is good and stable at speed. Will stick with them.

You should give PR4 a try.  I really like them.  Should get 7,000 US miles out of the rear and maybe 10,000 front.  Hug the road nice.  No issues
