    Dunlop Smarts
    « on: 2015-04-12 21:27:14 »
Having had 3 sets of Metz's on my 2012 GT I going to my local BMW garage to have a set of Dunlop Smarts fitted in the morning.  Hopefully I get extra mileage than the 8,000 km on the Metz.
Saturday 3friends with their 1600 GT's take the boat from Cork to Roscoff to check out the handling on the Brittany roads for the week.  Weather forecast looks good.
Not here for a long time but here for a good time.

Back to you eventually, the smarts I ordered had been fitted to another bike so I fitted what was left, Metz again. Was not impressed only lasted 8,000again.
Last year I had the opportunity to fit Dunlop road smarts, very impressed. 3 weeks ago I checked my tyres before I went to Scotland and was happy to proceed without change,  today I replaced them with PR4s after 13,000km.
I am going to run with PR4's for a change, can't fault the Dunlops.
Hopefully these will be as good.

Just keep in mind: more mileage on tyres means usually less grip on curvy or wet roads. Can't have all in one - at least not with today's technology.
It doesn't have to make sense. It's ok if it's just fun :-)

Well I didn't hear the sport bikes complaining as I kept up with them.
I was very pleased with the tyres performance even coming to the end of their use.

You can't compare tyres on touring bikes vs sports bikes. Even if it's the same brand. Ideally you have two K1600 with different tyres and test it side by side under different conditions.
