If it rains a lot you will appreciate them, there is minimal rain protection from the bike for your hands.

Welcome to forum, if you've got a GT SE it's not a basic model as has things like audio etc. The hand guards from Wunderlich are the best and are a real plus during winter months and also when raining as they look and work real good. Was out in North Yorkshire myself today and planning a run there again tomorrow so if you spot a black GTL give us a wave. Where you heading, I'll prob do Leyburn and Hawes

Welcome.  The best upgrade I did to my K16 was the beemer buddy soft handgrips  https://www.ebay.com/itm/Beemer-Buddies-Super-Sharkskins-Neoprene-Grips-for-BMW-Motorcycles-/261139124655?hash=item3ccd1ad1af&vxp=mtr  and tied with the handlebar risers: https://www.ebay.com/itm/New-Model-BMW-K1600GT-K1600GTL-Handlebar-Bar-Risers-2-Back-Innovative-/171770502797.  #2 was the windshield.  Taller, got rid of buffering and just looks better.  I am still searching for a all day long comfortable seat.  On my third seat already.  I hear the sheepskin pad is the way to go....or buy the Rustle Day Long Saddle but my budget (wife) will not allow that.

You probably know that the only GPSs that fit are the Garmin 660 or the BMW Navigator IV or V.  There is a different size surround for the V but I suspect on yours its the size for the 660/V.  Replacement surrounds is  about £20.00.

Have had a 660 since they came out, so when I got my GTL in 2011 I used it in that, I now have a 2014 Exclusive and have it fitted into that now, so it fits into both size surrounds just fine.
