Navigator IV loss of voice on unit.
    « on: 2018-01-26 21:37:17 »
Navigator IV loss of voice on unit.
Went into system and at bottom of screen pressed "about' and opened software versions, it indicates the voice is missing.
Can somebody assist me on how to fix this problem.
    Regards

Did you remove any files or upgrade your Nav recently? If yes, then the voice files were deleted accidentially.

If you have a backup, reinstall them manually. Or start Garmin express and install the voice files from there ("Extras & Content" - "Optional updates" - "Voice files"
It doesn't have to make sense. It's ok if it's just fun :-)

Hi HD Beemer, Had a look in optional updates I could find no voice file only language files. in this I found english  tick box and proceeded to load and having gone half to installing an error message pops up.
Back to drawing board, i give Garmin a ring on monday to see if they can assist.
        Many thanks

have you tried to reset the unit
if not try this you reset to start up
take the nav from the bike and switch of
hols your thum on the bottom right hand corner of the screen and at the same time switch on the nav
          do not remove your thum
the screen will go blank and then restart to factory settings
and the follow the screen prompts
you will not damage the unit
          hope this helps
          Steve

            Hi Daniel,
What language files do you use (language)? If other measures don't help, send me a PN and I send you the language file from my backup

Hi HD Beemer, thanks for support but i still in trouble. I discovered a local guy who is an expert on GPS etc so I dropped the unit into him and he assured me that he will have me up and running by the weekend.
By the way our Irish flag is similar to the Italian flag.
              Again many thanks.
